Making Room for More Quick Changes

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that a. my home is my laboratory and b. when my friends come over they won't even talk to me until they see what I've done to my house since their last visit. My mom says, "I can't keep up!"

I have made some major changes for sure. For example, my dining room has gone through major transition:

[caption id="attachment_1897" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="I actually loved my dining room like this, but the formality and quietness of it never felt comfy and inviting enough for me"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1898" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="So, for a long time, my dining room looked like this while I figured out all of the other rooms. I used say, "welcome to my flea market" when people came over, and quickly guided them to the living room."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1899" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Now I understand better how I want to use the space and I'm feeling much more creative and happy than before. The other design was nice, but this room says so much more about me, my personality and where I am in my life. This room I love"][/caption]

But not every change has to be so involved to create a new space for yourself! In my office, I simply changed the color of the oversized panels on the walls and took my desk out to make more room for projects. While you check out these before/after photos, think about small, easy, or quick changes that could make the difference between living in your space and loving your space. Enjoy!

[caption id="attachment_1900" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="The room is clean and organized- of course! And I still like the overscale panel of color I created for these walls."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1908" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Green has always been my favorite color. Somehow I got away from that in my home so I decided to bring it in where I want to feel the most productive and happy. The neutral furniture and rug choices I already had made this transition easy."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1909" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="I obviously love big picture frames. These flea market frames are perfect for my new color scheme. And adding fence wire to the back (with wire cutters and small finish nails) makes them useful without overpowering the walls.."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1901" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Simply changing the color and moving just two pieces of furniture gives this room a completely new look. I love the fresh energy.."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1910" align="aligncenter" width="429" caption="I debated hanging the 3rd frame that you see here stacked with my paintings. Running out of material can be a major decision maker. I may get more wire and hang it some day, but for now I'm happy with the room exactly as is. Thank you, Lillias Pettit-Scott for the gorgeous photos."][/caption]
