Step Away from the Computer!

Sometimes progress seems so slow- like nothing's coming easily and progress feels like pushing trees with roots...
Momentum is gaining, doors are opening, but sometimes it feels like I'm pushing a tree with roots. Yesterday was one of those days, so despite the fact that I had a proposal due and two deadline looming, I had to step away. I can only handle so much computer time, people!
So, I grabbed this chair that I started awhile ago and decided to paint the fabric to see if my idea for reupholstering in in vintage leather would be worthwhile.

I still don't like the fabric, but I think I can live with it while I work on finding and affording the leather I have in mind. In the mean time I'll get started on the other chair."][/caption]
I definitely feel better now. I'll try to get back to work, but you may see more painting on the way too!

GREAT post!
I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes the back end of running a creative business is so foreign, mechanical, and tedious. It is worth it to take a little time and do something that you KNOW how to do. You may not have checked anything off your boring list but your spirit is rejuvenated and you’ll be able to hit the hard stuff better. You’ve actually Made Room in your psyche to tackling the chores.
