Design Rooms for Living Your Life

Over the past couple of years I tried to ignore the news about the economy and sinking interest in television weren't getting me down. I was cutting back and letting go, all the while telling myself I was being practical, being smart. Then it hit me-I was hiding, hunkering down, hoping to get by without anyone noticing I was struggling to adjust to the times. Startled by the awareness that I was moving further away than ever from the life I was trying to create, I blurted out, like Talking Heads, “How did I get here?!”

So the past year has been about re-building- my career, my business, my home, my life. And, of course, as I tackle each room I notice myself changing too. It’s amazing how a little re-arranging can help you see things in a whole new light!

So, it's time to show you my next project: these little messes I call my living and dining rooms.

I've stopped inviting people, stopped enjoying my home. I'm feeling trapped and wrestless- there's too much stuff! Full of leftovers from other rooms, client projects, and flea markets; these rooms are my ticket to making room for more. Yep, I’m going to clear out everything unnecessary then re-do, re-arrange, and re-organize everything else. May sound a little contradictory, but the lighter my load and the more organized my place, the more room I'll have for building my business, sharing time with friends, and getting ready for a  new home in an exciting city somewhere.

Tune in and check out my progress. And maybe make a little room of your own for something new.
