Color in the City; Mt. Davidson in San Francisco

Those of you who follow me on Instagram know my morning routine, power walking around my home in San Mateo and urban hikes, mostly in San Francisco, on the weekends.

This weekend we showed friends from Denmark our beautiful city with a hike to Mount Davidson in San Francisco. I don't totally understand why that massive cross is there, even though we read the plaque. But it is beautiful, which is strange for someone like me to say- this isn't a religious symbol that was part of my upbringing.

For me the highlight, as always, was the terrain- the incredible natural colors and shapes...

...that somehow survives the man-made color and chaos that tries to take over.
