Inspired by Lorde's song, Royals, I created this thick relief piece to reflect today's obsession with flashy objects and our current economy that sacrifices quality for price. It's not an entirely pessimistic piece though; I used salvaged wood, plaster, and water to show the natural beauty of materials that are hand molded and worked with thoughtful care. This piece can be printed onto linen for custom pieces such as the reupholstered vintage chair shown in the photos.
