American Made extends voting

So, voting for Martha Stewart's American Made award WAS wrapping up, and while I knew I didn't have the most votes in my Design category, I have been over the moon happy, encouraged, and touched by the positive response- the rooting, cheering and voting I've received!!! BUT WAIT! Martha extended the voting timeframe to SEPTEMBER 22nd! I'll admit, I feel like I was at mile 20 in a marathon only to find out the race is 10 miles longer, but still. I'm happy to keep reaching for this goal. So, please register and vote, vote, vote.

Shannon Kaye HOME launches new line, 'Plein Heir'

[caption id="attachment_9148" align="alignleft" width="500" caption="I'm excited about this new endeavor I've actually been imagining for several years now."][/caption] 'Plein Heir' is a unique an evolving line of vintage furniture and accessories re-imagined with my original art and paint style. The named is a cheeky pun of "plein air" the outdoor painting style made popular by the Impressionists, paired with 'heirloom' referring to the vintage and used pieces I'm digging up for the line, like this sturdy old chair I found at a local flea market. It's labeled with a tag from the Los Angeles DEA's office- gotta love a good story. I took a linen print of my 'Pink Lattice Floral' painting to my upholstery shop and placed the artwork...

Sneak Peak: this Saturday's art and pop-up show

Final preparations are underway... Val is preparing some nice little hors d'oeuvres and selected a lovely vino for a complimentary bite and beverage. (more drinks and food are available for purchase after that)                     And I'm putting final touches on the pillows and things to accompany my art. Linen to Linen and Paint to Print

People have been asking me about the creative process behind my decorative pillows.
